Reading/Writing InstructorSponsors For Educational Opportunity - New York, NYReading/Writing Instructors are responsible for teaching 3 to 4 one-hour classes per Saturday (as well as 2 one-hour classes per weekday if available). Classes include Critical Reading, Critical Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary. Instructors will be assigned to classes that are commensurate with their experience. Instructors should expect about seventeen students per class. Sessions are held 3 Saturdays per month from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and during the week from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The Scholars Program is intent on having students master reading skills, such as active annotation and identification of comprehension, connotation/denotation, literary elements, background knowledge, and inference.
