Clinical PsychologistUnited States Department of Veterans Affairs - Temple, TXThe psychologist assigned to the Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) Program within the Mental Health and Behavioral Medicine Service (MH&BM). Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary primary care clinical team providing services to Veterans with complex medical and mental health problems. Administers/scores or evaluates psycho diagnostic tests, including neuropsychological screening. Determines most appropriate interventions based on cognitive and psychological functioning. Provides psychotherapy and psycho-education to Veteran and their caregivers with particular focus on management of psychological factors impacting medical status, depression, anxiety, cognitive changes, coping with chronic disease, promoting a healthy lifestyle, caregiver support, and end-of-life issues.
