Scientists at Biological Mimetics, Inc. are the inventors of an exciting new vaccine design strategy named the Immune Refocusing Technology. The new Technology seeks to develop vaccines that stimulate enhanced cross-protective immunity by modifying strain-specific epitopes. Preliminary results based on several different viruses show increased breadth of response against HIV-1, influenza, FMDV, CAEV, and other pathogens (Tobin GT, et al., Vaccine 2009). BMI seeks bright and self-motivated scientists to apply the Technology for the continued development of novel vaccines for influenza and other pathogens.
