ORIGINAL JOB LISTING Make a positive impact in the life of a young person! The Hispanic Committee of Virginias Scholastic Alliance Tutoring/Mentoring Program is beginning this Fall. Scholastic Alliance is a tutoring and mentoring program for at-risk teenagers. Middle and high school students are matched with dedicated adult volunteer mentors who meet with their assigned youth once per week to tutor them, review their schoolwork or share other activities that promote verbal, math, communication, critical thinking skills and self-esteem.Mentors help the students stay focused in an overall effort to reduce dropout rates and help students prepare for and gain access to college.
