  JOB TITLE: MEDICAL ASSISTANT FLOAT DEPARTMENT: PULMONARY MEDICINE RESPONSIBLE TO: PRACTICE MANAGER STATUS: NON-EXEMPT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1. Attendance: a. To be in attendance and to be on time. 2. Assessment Skills: a. Collect data pertaining to patient assessment in a systematic manner. Focus on reason for visit, vital signs, and medication history. b. Monitor working environment to assure effective use of resources and efficient patient flow. c. Demonstrate ability to screen phone calls and refer/respond appropriately. Recognize normal/abnormal lab values. 3. Clinical Skills: a.
