Unit Description: Level 1 Nursery The Level 1 Newborn Nursery has a 20 newborn crib capacity. All babies in this area are in open cribs and spend the majority of the day in the mother's room. The nursery is fully staffed to AWHONN guidelines. The nursery staff attends deliveries and is responsible for infant care from the moment of birth until the infant is dismissed. All Level I Nursery RNs are NRP & CPR certified. All babies are monitored through the HUGGS system. Level 2 Nursery: The Level 2 Nursery is a special care nursery for neonates with gestational ages of 32 weeks to full term.
