Leading horses and assisting riders in therapeutic riding program (Volunteer)
Gallop Inc is a NY charity that teaches children and adults with disabilities to ride horses. We are a fun team that gets huge joy from helping our riders learn and achieve. As one rider said "When I ride, I feel free!" We love helping him feel that way!
We need volunteers to help us by assisting the riders and by leading the horses and getting them ready. No skills needed but familiarity with horses is helpful. We train our volunteers.
We have sessions five days per week, Monday and Tuesday all day, and Wednesay, Thursday and Fridays in the afternoons. Volunteers can sign up for as little as one hour, for all day or anything in between.
