Established in 1981, the Citizens Advisory Council is a group of fifteen to twenty volunteer senior leaders committed to providing informed advocacy for other senior citizens. It seeks to draw more attention and resources to the needs of older people, including their need for opportunities to continue to contribute to society. With a primary but not exclusive focus on Northwest Washington, the CAC's primary resources are its important affiliation with IONA Senior Services, and the energy, time and contacts of its members. It has no direct staff or financial resources, other than the collegial relationship with and support whenever possible from IONA.
