AMA Volunteer (Volunteer)
This position requires an individual who has a love of children and the poor. Energetic young woman to run youth programs and assist with immigration issues for local families in Chaparral, New Mexico, which is a community located near the border with Mexico. The Assumption Sisters and their volunteers have lived in solidarity and worked closely with the families there for 7 years and are seeking two highly motivated and organized young women to lend their assistance. Contract begins in August 2009 and runs through July 2010. Spanish a plus but not absolutely necessary. Must be flexible, willing to learn, self-sufficient, and have a good sense of humor.
