Certified Coder - HIM - SupplementalCatholic Healthcare West - Redding, CAThe Certified Coder is responsible for obtaining clinical information from the health record and coding the pertinent data using accurate ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes. He/She is also responsible for timely and accurate data abstraction and utilizing all applicable State, Federal and other professionally recognized regulations and guidelines. Certified Coding Specialist certification, training and continuing reducation required. College-level anatomy and physicology, medical terminology and disease process required. Knowledge of pertinent healthcare regulations and statutes, medico-legal requirements, quality improvement standards and effective oral and written communication skills required.
