University Building Official, Posting # 090601Virginia Tech -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute - Blacksburg, VAVirginia Tech is establishing a new program in which the university will be assuming the duties, powers and authorities for local enforcement of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC). The program will be developed and lead by a University Building Official (UBO) who will be responsible for the legal administration and enforcement of the USBC for work on the university campus. The Office of the UBO, which includes the UBO and support staff, will review plans for new construction and renovation projects; and will perform construction inspections required by the USBC.
