DESCRIPTION \"Not being able to read is like being in prison, because if you can\'t read, you\'re not free.\" -Literacy Program Student Think of all the things you couldn\'t do if you didn\'t possess the gift of literacy : read the warning labels on medicine bottles, interpret traffic signs, fill out a job application, follow a recipe, read to a child. The LifeWorks Literacy Programs seek tutors to work with our Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language (ESL) students. DUTIES Classes meet M/W or T/TH, and tutors may teach both weekly sessions or opt to \"co-tutor\" and teach one day per week. Sessions meet either at our Center in East Austin or at various locations throughout the community. We offer morning (10am-12pm), afternoon (12:30-2:20), and evening (6:30-8:30)...
