Volunteer teachers, called docents, enable the BioPark to fulfill its education mission. Docents utilize the Albuquerque Aquarium, Rio Grande Botanic Garden and Rio Grande Zoo as a teaching resource by focusing on all the habitats represented and species exhibited. Docents are critical to the mission because they bring a knowledgeable and personal connection to thousands of people each year, both on-grounds and through outreach.
