Utilizes professional medical skills to meet a variety of health care needs, with ambulatory care as primary focus. Interacts with a variety of health care professionals and security staff in a correctional environment. JOB RELATIONS Reports clinically to the Physician, and administratively to the HSA. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility. Assesses inmate patient in a variety of settings. Identifies inmate patient health problems and prescribes treatment under direction of a physician. Implements medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by the physician.
