Healthcare Volunteer
Now in its 10th year, Camp Kids Haven has already served more than 275 children either infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. This August, Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area will once again offer a week of recreational summer camp to children ages 7 to 13 from the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.
Located at Mar-Lu Ridge facility in Jefferson, Md., Camp Kids Haven strives to create a warm, loving environment where all children are welcome regardless of their HIV status. Many children infected or affected by HIV and AIDS have little social support to help them come to terms with the disease.
