Internship with a Literacy NonprofitBehind the Book - New York, NYBehind the Book, a grassroots literacy nonprofit working with low-income students in New York City public schools, is seeking an intern for the spring semester (extension possible). Behind the Books mission is to excite children and young adults about reading. Using personalized, curriculum-based programs, Behind the Book creatively engages students with the written word to motivate them to read more. The position will be based at our upper west side office, but may involve occasional travel to our schools in Harlem, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens. Hours will typically be 8-10 hours per week.
