CLASS TITLE: CERTIFIED INTERPRETER-DEAF/HARD OF HEARING
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general supervision, to assist a certificated teacher of the hearing impaired in instruction of hearing impaired students. Work under the direct supervision of a certificated teacher of the hearing impaired to facilitate communication between students with hearing impairments and their hearing peers, the classroom teacher, and other personnel in the school system; provide interpreting and other support services to students with hearing impairments who are mainstreamed in a variety of school settings.
