Research Assistant IIITemple University - Philadelphia, PAJob Title: Research Assistant III Profession: Education/Training/Information -> Higher Education - Faculty The Research Assistant III will research the molecular biology of the human polyomavirus, JCV - the etiological agent of a fatal demyelinating brain disease called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. Culture and assay of JCV by replication assays, qPCR and Western blots. Perform analyses of viral promoters by transfection and reporter gene assays. Extraction and analysis of DNA, RNA and protein by qPCR, qRT-PCR, Southern, Northern and Western blots. Production of mutant proteins by site-directed mutagenesis and analysis of protein: protein interactions by IP/Western and GST pull-down assays. Will order and stock supplies.
