Medical TechnicianAtlanta, GAGENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for processing and handling of laboratory specimens. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Laboratory Lead Technician. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs technical laboratory functions including hematology and urinalysis. Reports test results in accordance with established laboratory guidelines. Alerts physicians and/or nurses of critical results. Ensures quality control in specimen collection and processing. Oversees patient record handling. Maintains equipment and supplies as needed. Complies with all policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, and infection control. The employee must demonstrate current competencies applicable to job position.
