The Division of Commercial Fisheries, Region IV (Westward Region) is recruiting for a Biometrician II to fill the position of crab observer database biometrician. Onboard observers in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands commercial crab fisheries collect detailed biological data on the crab catch and document vessel fishing characteristics and effort. These data reside in an extensive database within Region IV. The crab observer biometrician is responsible for the analysis and summarization of that data for annual reports, fulfilling data requests and conducting independent studies.
