Full Job Description

For more than 25 years, The Franklin Café has been a South End neighborhood favorite, known for exceptional food, craft cocktails, and genuine hospitality. We're looking for a passionate, organized, and hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team and help deliver the quality and consistency our guests expect every night.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced kitchen leader who thrives in a fast-paced, chef-driven environment and takes pride in building strong teams.

What You'll Do

Lead and supervise all daily kitchen operations.
Coach, train, and develop line cooks, prep cooks, and dish staff.
Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Manage food cost through purchasing, inventory, portion control, and waste reduction.
Create prep lists and ensure kitchen readiness for every service.
Maintain labor budgets and build efficient schedules.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Work closely with the General Manager to improve systems and drive operational excellence.
Assist with menu execution, recipe adherence, and new item rollouts.
Lead by example during busy services, working side-by-side with the team.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of kitchen management or sous chef experience in a high-volume restaurant.
Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
Solid understanding of food costing, inventory management, and labor controls.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Passion for quality food and hospitality.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
