Description

Position Summary

The Special Markets Academic Manager will be responsible for the sales into dental, hygiene and assisting schools from the portfolio of companies that comprise the Kavo Kerr Group. The role will carry the full line of equipment, ranging from imaging, hand pieces, dental chairs, delivery units, dental lights, lab equipment and dental cabinetry. In addition, the manager will be responsible for growing the professional consumable side of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Analyze and manage sales and market share data to ensure organic growth and alignment of departmental priorities.
* Drive increased effectiveness and efficiency through value selling and Voice of Customer initiatives to ensure a customer centric organization
* Utilize the Funnel Management process by applying DBSO best practices and with a relentless focus on continuous improvement for the process and results.
* Drive branding and value propositions across the KKG platform and product tiers.  Ensure product differentiation aligns with strategic and customer needs.
* Develop strong dealer relationships to enhance market penetration of KKG offerings.
* Actively drive improved synergies across all KaVo Kerr Group brands.
* Build and maintain strategic relationships with sales channel and end-users.
* Actively ensure increasing mindshare of sales channel through creative sales efforts such as: product offerings, promotions, campaigns, and training.
* Strong ability to listen to customer needs and make thoughtful, consultative recommendations for products.
* Ability to manage long-term projects.
* Ability to travel within the territory of 14 northeast states.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

The Special Markets Academic Manager must have strong ability to influence and lead sales efforts to customers, end-users, authorized dealers, students, purchasing departments, facilities and sales leadership staff.  This role will play a key role in building the Company’s Special Markets sales funnel for organic growth. A qualified candidate will have creative qualities that allow them to implement and contribute to successful funnel management, time and territory management as well as marketing and sales campaigns.  This role requires an energetic and ambitious person that will aggressively pursue the Company’s sales goals, objectives in front of the academic accounts. Strong relationship building qualities are a must in maintaining and developing long-lasting relationships and sales partnerships. Frequent travel to accounts are critical in maintaining and developing relationships to position products for the academic institution.

Required Education/Experience:

* Bachelor’s degree required.
* Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience with an excellent track record of success.
* Dental industry experience preferred.
* Sales experience in the dental academic markets is preferred.
* Experience selling across complex geographies preferred.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities.
* Motivated individual to create and drive opportunities.
* Distribution management experience preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS and/or REMARKS:

* Travel:  Approximately:  50% overnight travel.
* Territory includes: KY, WV, VA, DC, MD, DE, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, PA, ME, VT, NH
* Sales representative should be based out of:  New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, or Hartford, CT.
