SEI has created a new SEI Wealth Platform to facilitate the wealth management and investment processing needs of our clients worldwide. The scope of the platform is comprehensive and includes client relationship management, investment management, portfolio accounting, transaction initiation, order management, trade execution, clearing, currency and foreign exchange processing, corporate actions processing, reconciliation, financial (reference) data management, financial planning, portfolio management, reporting and operational workflow.

The candidate will exhibit leadership and facilitation skills for driving agile release trains. The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is the “Uber-Scrum Master”– the one who facilitates program level processes and program execution, escalates impediments, manages risk, and helps drive program-level continuous improvement. A solid understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework and scaling Agile will assist the RTE in understanding the unique opportunities and challenges associated with organizing, facilitating, and continuously aligning a large software program with the guiding business strategy. This role is critical to the transformation for the Wealth Platforms success to Scale Agile.

Responsibilities include:

• Aligns the train to the annual calendars for sprints and PSIs
• Supports the Scrum Teams, Product Owners, Product Managers, Epic Owners and Business Owners to facilitate release planning preparedness and to ensure that each team has an actionable, prioritized backlog
• Supports the Scrum Teams by working thru challenges with architects, EPIC Owners and Product Managers to remove impediments and obtain resolution
• Facilitates releaseplanning ceremonies and is responsible for ensuring adherence to SAFe.
• Ensures the Program has high quality documents including Vision presentations, dependency lists, issue and risk lists, corrective action plans and train level metrics
• Aggregates team objectives into Program PSI Objectives and publishes for visibility and transparency
• Protector of the Business Objectives - Assists with train execution, PSI feature completion tracking and tracking of business objectives for the business owners
• Assist the PPMO in gathering and maintaining appropriate metrics
• Plays role of “Uber Scrum Master” by running Scrum of Scrums and providing daily servant leadership to teams
• Assists with economic decision-making by facilitating EPIC estimation by teams and rollup to train level visibility
• Escalates impediments and risks to the PPMO
• Facilitates team collaboration with System Architect to ensure high quality technical delivery
• Facilitates team collaboration with QA Manager to drive testing strategies, testing automation and overall quality process improvement
• Works with Product Management and Product Ownerto help assure strategy and execution alignment
• Reports status to all stakeholders of the train
• Facilitates issue and risk management process
• Facilitates resource adjustments to help teams adapt to issues and risks
• Drives train-level continuous improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops and constant demonstration of a Kaizen mindset
• Encourages team and train level quality practices; adhering to SAFe’s - Six Agile Software Engineering Practices for Achieving High Quality Code – agile architecture, continuous integration, test-first, refactoring, pair work and collective ownership
• Encourages Communities of Practice around SAFe such as Scrum Master and Product Owner Community of Practice forums
• Participates in Portfolio and ProgramManagement improvement and standardization activities
• Acts as a mindset change agent from traditional manager/program manager to servant leader

Position Requirements

Program/Project Management experience
• Displays Servant Leadership skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery of the Sprints/PSI’s.
• Strong Process orientation
• Strong conceptual grasp of technology with successful history of delivery technical projects.
• Strong understanding of SAFe or iterative development processes, quality and testing best practices.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of 7 years IT project management experience.
• History of successful project completion and team building;
• Experience interfacing with senior leadership;
• Strong communication skills
• Desire to work collaboratively with the all Agile teamsand their stakeholders
• Possess a high level of business and technical savvy.
• Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including understanding of technical writing requirements
• Comfort in delegating tasks, inter-relating with teams and hitting deadlines

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
