Determines and coordinates appropriate room assignments and controls processes related to bed placement for all med/surg requests from all areas including ED, OR/PACU, unit transfers and direct admits from local physician offices and unit-to-unit transfers. Prioritizes patient movement based on highest census areas in collaboration with the Clinical Operations Coordinator and responds to dynamic patient-flow situations. Anticipates future bed needs and bed availability by monitoring requesting area volume, the ED tracking board, OR/PACU surgical requests, and outpatient services. Communicates with leadership in med/surg, ED, PACU, Birthplace, and Peds and escalates situations affecting patient movements as necessary. Reviews daily surgical schedule and creates anticipatory bed requests. Prioritizes jobs for EVS and Transport Services to ensure bed movements progresses successfully. Adjust patient types in ADT to reflect changes per Case Management or physician order. Convert ED accounts to Inpatient or Outpatient status upon admission. Make all location transfers ...
