POSITION SUMMARY:
  To provide quality care to patients under the direction of an RN, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare.  

POPULATION SERVED:
  Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) :  Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, GI conditions and diseases including but not limited to:  CAD, PVD, COPD, CHF, CVA/TIA metabolic disorders.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process for Telemetry patients Monitors and recognizes changes in the patient's behavioral, neurological and physiological status and takes appropriate action including informing a Registered Nurse of any incongruencies Administers and monitors the effects of medications, treatments and procedures performed on the patient. Assists with unit employee process activities, including orientation and professional development Demonstrates knowledge of established policies and procedures which regulate the practice of nursing Participates and cooperates in the Quality Improvement activities of the department Maintains ...

·         High School or Equivalent   REQUIRED
·         Certification from State approved Nursing Assistant Certification Course.                 LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION             REQUIRED
·         Nursing Assistant Certification
·         Current BCLS Certification   EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED (list required and preferred separately)              PREFERRED
·         Nursing Assistant experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.   SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE,

AND ABILITIES:

1.      IV Therapy certification preferred
2.      Medical nursing unit experience preferred
3.      Read and write basic English with basic skills necessary to transfer physician orders
4.      Bilingual in Spanish preferred
5.      Knowledge of body substance isolation
6.      Ability to move in excess of 100 pounds with assistance from others
7.      Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
8.      Basic computer skills and proficiency
9.      Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills
