**Principal duties:**

This position is tasked with researching and developing data visualization techniques (ex. dashboards) and proactively distributing these academic-related resources to schools/colleges/departments through sustained relationships with academic planners, academic deans, associate deans, department chairs, advisors and curricular/enrollment representatives. The incumbent will play a key role to enhance the Office of the Registrar's ability to provide academic-related data and resources that support data-driven decisions at the school/college/department level. The position will also provide outreach and education on the interpretation and definition of academic-related data.

The position will assist with analysis of internal operational data to ensure the Office of the Registrar's resources are optimize to support the teaching, research and outreach mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This analysis will require working with school/college/department academic and student affairs representatives.

This position will also create, audit and distribute university official reports that are used to fulfill the institution's academic planning and compliance responsibilities. This requires collaboration with the Office of the Provost, Division of Enrollment Management, UW System Administration, Committee on Institutional Cooperation, Wisconsin Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (WACRAO), National Student Clearinghouse, National Collegiate Athletic Association, Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Research, Office of Budget Planning and Analysis, and schools/colleges/departments.

70% Data Visualization and Outreach

1. Research, develop and execute strategic plan for leveraging data visualization techniques (ex. dashboards) that can be
utilized to proactively and easily distribute data and reports to Office of the Registrar constituents. Visualization should focus
on providing consistent data in an intuitive format to facilitate academic planning in school/college/department.
2. Collaborate with academic planners, academic deans, associate deans, department chairs, advisors and curricular/enrollment
representatives to assess the campus data needs.
3. Create a portfolio of data reports, queries and dashboards that are commonly used at a school/college/department level.
Develop and execute an outreach plan to educate campus staff as to the benefits for data reports, queries and dashboard.
4. Assess and improve the Office of the Registrar academic data presence on registrar.wisc.edu.
5. Work with end users/campus partners to gather requirements, design, build, and test reports/dashboards/queries to assist
with academic planning at the school/college/department level.
6. Collaborate with Division of Enrollment Management to ensure consistent academic data messaging.
7. Provide outreach and education on the interpretation and definition of academic-related data.
8. Receive, analyze, evaluate, and respond to academic data requests from school/college/department staff and the general
public.
9. Interpret and apply FERPA regulations to ensure student private rights.

15% Create, Audit and Distribute University Official Reports
1. Create, audit and distribute university official reports that are used to fulfill the institution's academic reporting and
compliance responsibilities.
2. Collaborate and serve as a liaison to the Office of the Provost, Division of Enrollment Management, UW System
Administration, Committee on Institutional Cooperation, Wisconsin Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions
Officers (WACRAO), National Student Clearinghouse, National Collegiate Athletic Association, Office of Academic Planning
and Institutional Research, Office of Budget Planning and Analysis, and schools/colleges/departments.

5% Office of the Registrar Assessment
1. Perform analysis on various processes and systems within the office to provide an accurate overview of the
process/system. Information will be used to make data-driven decisions to improve office operations.
2. Assist with the establishment of performance metrics for processes and systems.

10% Area/Office Standards and Expectations
1. Meet the standards set forth in the area-specific and office-wide 'Standards and Expectations' documents maintained by area supervisors and the Office of the Registrar leadership team. This includes, but not limited to, meeting standards in the areas of customer service, participation, communications, professional development and testing of processes and systems.
2. Actively engage in professional organizations and development opportunities related to Academic Services functions, processes, and technologies to remain abreast of changes in the field. Network with colleagues from other campuses to investigate best practices.
