The Deputy Chief Compliance Officer reports directly to the Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Tenet Healthcare Corporation.

The Deputy Chief Compliance Officer reports directly to Tenets Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for overseeing the operations of Tenets Ethics and Compliance program in Tenets hospitals. The Deputy Chief Compliance Officer assists the Chief Compliance Officer in providing leadership on ethics and compliance matters and directly supervises the Regional Compliance Directors located in the regions.

The Deputy Chief Compliance Officer works with the Regional Compliance Directors to implement policies, procedures, and practices designed to ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare laws, rules and regulations. The Deputy Chief Compliance Officer is a member of Tenets senior compliance team and assists the Chief Compliance Officer with department-wide initiatives and ensures that compliance program initiatives are implemented and championed across the company. The Deputy Chief Compliance Officers responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

* Work collaboratively with senior Compliance Department leadership in compliance and ethics program development and implementation.
* Significant role in managing the effectiveness of the ethics and compliance program in Tenets hospitals and ensuring that the Regional Compliance Directors and the hospital compliance officers are effective.
* Advise senior management and regional leadership on issues concerning compliance and ethics matters including recommending controls designed to ensure compliance.
* Establish effective working relationships and build credibility within the company to support a culture of ethics and compliance.
* Directly supervise and manage the Regional Compliance Directors.
* Independently investigate or supervise the investigation of compliance and ethics concerns that are raised through Tenets Ethics Action Line or other reporting mechanisms.
* Ensure implementation of Tenets Quality, Compliance, and Ethics Program Charter, applicable compliance and ethics policies and procedures, and Tenets Standards of Conduct.
* Assist in identifying potential risk areas and develop auditing, monitoring, and oversight processes related to ensure mitigation.
* Oversee the implementation of corrective actions and monitoring in response to identified issues and audits.
* Coordinate with Tenets legal counsel to facilitate communication between the Compliance and Ethics Department and Law Department on legal compliance matters.
* Implement policies and procedures that encourage employees, leadership, contractors, and physicians to report compliance concerns without the fear of retaliation.
* Prepare monthly compliance reports for submission to the Chief Compliance Officer.
* Report on ethics and compliance matters to the regional leadership and the Chief Compliance Officer.

Qualifications

:

The Candidate

Education/Certifications:

An undergraduate degree is required and a Juris Doctorate degree is preferred.

Required Background Experience:

* Strong preference for at least five to seven years experience in healthcare compliance matters, preferably for a large, multi-faceted healthcare organization.
* The successful candidate will be recognized for demonstrated knowledge in compliance process improvement and the requirements of Federal healthcare programs.
* Relevant experience may include past clinical, legal, auditing or other compliance experience.
* Prior management experience preferred.
* Skilled in use of information systems, databases, Power Point, Excel and Microsoft Word.
