We are seeking an IT candidate to fulfill our Desktop Support Specialist position. Candidate will be responsible for working alongside internal IT staff, as well as providing support to all company employees. He/she is expected to be able to handle multi-projects in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Responsibilities:

Asset management

Equipment/Software purchasing

Employee on-boarding IT activities, e.g. equipment deployment, account setup, etc.

Employee termination IT activities, e.g. equipment reclamation, account termination, etc.

Internal server backup management/support

Monitor and manage helpdesk/operations

Level 1-2 helpdesk support

Coordinate specific IT projects: copier replacements, video conferencing roll-out, etc

Provide professional, thorough, and timely user support including resolving desktop, laptop, printers, and other hardware issues, as well as issues with proprietary software applications

May be the escalation point for moderately complex technical problems

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Norton Ghost, Microsoft Office, Microsoft XP, Win7, Networking Symantec backup exec, VPN

Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with all levels of management

Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team

High level of organizational skills and the ability to follow-through and resolve issues

Ability to consistently and accurately follow verbal or documented instructions

Flexibility to work longer hours as required and to be on call

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or MIS and at least 3 years work experience

Desirable:

Windows Server 2003, 2008, Microsoft Exchange, Apple Iphone / Ipad Os, MySQL, Cisco, IIS, Linux, VMWare ESX

Technical Certifications: A+, Network +, Security+, MCSE, MCITP, MSCA or equivalent a plus
