* Lead the Sector/regional team focused on conducting investigations, providing sound advice and counsel to our stakeholders (employees, HR community and management) in the area of employee relations and conflict resolution.
* May independently perform investigations on complex and sensitive ER issues.
* In partnership with the Employee Relations Center of Excellence (COE), contributes to the strategic development of the Employee Relations function by developing a progressive, business-focused employee relations strategy that meets the current and future needs of the organization.
* Identify and implement positive employee relation programs, in consultation with relevant stakeholders, that will lead to a more efficient and motivated workforce.
* Serves as an expert in employee relations providing guidance and oversight to investigations and sensitive complex employee issues, seeking legal counsel as needed.
* Ensures appropriate collaboration with legal and corporate and sector HRVPs for those issues representing significant risk to the organization.
* Monitors employee relations-related actions, decisions, communications and training to ensure executives and managers understand and apply sound ER practices.
* Manage the Dispute Resolution Process for assigned sectors.
* Provide advice and counsel on the fair and consistent application of policy and treatment of employees.
* Provide input to sector leadership on potential impact of change initiatives and recommend sound change management approaches to ensure successful implementation.
* In partnership with legal, prepares legal responses through appropriate investigation, preparation and written responses for EEOC and DOL matters.
* In collaboration with HRBLs and associated functions (e.g., Ethics and OE), develop analytics to identify ER trends within a business unit via metrics reporting and case management systems and logs.
* Ensures operational consistency and compliance with the enterprise wide ERCMS (i.e. recording keeping, documentation, data and policy interpretation, etc.) provided by the assigned ER team.
* Ensures that the appropriate HR policies and procedures are applied based on business unit’s needs and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations as they pertain to employment laws.
* Responsible for achievement of effective and timely resolution of ER investigations by encouraging and improving the accuracy and efficiency of team members.
* Develop and maintain the operating budget for the Employee Relations department and assure that the team operates within budget appropriated amounts.

* Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business or other applicable field of study.
* Experience in union and non union environments.
* Previous experience with an aerospace and defense company of comparable size and complexity to Northrop Grumman.

Position is located at our AS corporate headquarters in Redondo Beach, CA. Relocation assistance may be available.
