Financial and operational activities include; financial projections and reporting, practice evaluations, economic strategies, budgeting, policy support and development. Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of company accounting standards and processes. Coordinate duties of division financial analysts and corporate accounting. SUPERVISOR - Physician Services Division VP and dotted line to Hospital Division Controller SUPERVISES - Physician Services Division financial analysts DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:1. Responsible for overall supervision of division finance personnel.2. Manage and evaluate performance to ensure quality of services and maintain technical expertise of workgroup personnel.3. Direct and review all activities relating to job duties.4. Drive timeliness, accuracy and completeness of financial reports to meet specified deadlines.5. Coordinate activities of field analysts and corporate accounting.6. Partner with senior leadership to develop and report standard financial data sets.7. Prepare various reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position.8. Conduct physician contract reviews to validate all payments.9. Provide management (to include Physician Services leadership, Division leadership, & Hospital CFO's) with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.10. Review monthly journal entries as required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period.11. Review monthly financial variance reports to support practice operations with performance reviews.12. Review monthly reports for key indicators and statistics.13. Assist practice operations as needed with financial information requests and questions.14. Prepare and coordinate distribution of monthly reports or returns required by regulatory agencies.15. Participate in development and detailed review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.16. Assist in preparing various reports or returns required by regulatory agencies.17. Assist with internal compliance audits as required.18. Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.19. Respond to requests for information from Corporate, Internal Audit and other internal management.20. Assist in the development, documentation and implementation of departmental accounting standards.21. Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure.22. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to remain informed of changing industry trends and government regulations.23. Drive and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement" standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - This position requires the following minimum requirements: 1. Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices sufficient to identify and describe accounting systems and sub-systems.2. Knowledge of the financial accounting process.3. Knowledge of research techniques to analyze and evaluate financial data and information.4. Knowledge of accounting information systems.5. Proficiency with PC-based spreadsheet and word processing programs.6. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational goals.7. Skill in identifying and resolving problems.8. Skill in interviewing and hiring personnel.9. Effective organizational skills.10. Ability to work well with all levels of Senior Management.11. Ability to delegate work effectively.12. Ability to identify and delegate work appropriately.13. Ability to analyze financial reports.14. Ability to prepare statistical and narrative accounting reports.15. Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately.16. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.17. Ability to work well with others.18. Ability to organize work independently and consistently achieve reporting deadlines.19. Ability to interact with other individuals at all levels of management. EDUCATION - Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in accounting or other business-related field. EXPERIENCE - Five years of progressive accounting/financial experience, including three years of supervisory experience. Preferably three years in a physician practice management or healthcare-related environment. CERTIFICATE/LICENSE - CPA license highly preferred.
