The Executive Director, Content Licensing & Program Acquisitions will need to generate revenue by actively marketing Turners underutilized programming assets as well as our original series. Key Responsibilities:

Negotiate program acquisitions annually, resulting in projected gross revenues over the term of the agreements. Independently and in partnership with the current VP of Program Acquisitions, Employee will source available content and accept submissions from studio/sellers, present available materials to programmers, and collaborate with finance and legal to draft deals that raise leverage and profitability while maintaining/reducing pricing for programming.

Additional Responsibilities:
Effectively handle a large volume of deals simultaneously. Procure new media rights along with traditional linear rights as determined by management. Build and improve upon distributor relationships with distribution executives at television and theatrical studios.
Work with TEN Acquisitions Finance to evaluate discrete financial analyses of proposed acquisitions, including displacement analyses and risk mitigation models. Actively explore new financial models for financing acquisitions. It is necessary for the Executive Director to understand and evaluate finance assumptions to ensure that the department's pricing suggestions are in concert with current market pricing and also take into account changes is the television ecosystem.
Train and supervise junior staff in all areas of the acquisition and content licensing process.
Act as a Resource. Work with TEN Program Planning to assess individual network needs Construct/procure dynamic market place information from outside vendors/distributors and provide to networks enabling informed decisions in the context of programming strategies. Provide decision-makers with access to timely identification of available brand-centric product. Maintain market pricing and competitive information.
Expected to lead and close negotiations for acquired content worth up to $40M per month.

Sales Goals:
Expected to contribute to bringing in $5-10M per year in revenue from sales of Turner-owned Content or negotiating deals to allow shares of already acquired content with other networks.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7+ years experience in television including sales and programming or acquisitions. Skilled negotiator who creatively develops optimal agreement structures, terms and rights.
Strategic thinker with deep knowledge of business models for ad-supported broadcast and cable networks.
Extensive familiarity with linear and non-linear content rights.
Ability to comprehend, articulate and contribute to complex legal dialogue
Significant financial acumen, including budget management, profitability analyses and amortization schedules. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to synthesize information and devise strategies.
High proficiency in excel and Power Point
Willingness to work entertainment hours/long hours as needed Education A four-year degree is required. A solid understanding of digital content distribution models Excellent writing and oral communication skills are required. Minimum of 6-8 years of entertainment industry experience with at least two years spent acquiring/licensing content, and/or negotiating contracts. Compensation Turner intends to attract a superior Executive Director, Content Licensing & Program Acquisitions, and is prepared to offer an attractive compensation package including a base salary, plus bonus.
