DESCRIPTION

The Financial Aid Processor has the primary responsibility of reviewing financial aid packaging and processing Title IV funding while ensuring that all files reviewed are within DOE regulatory compliance. Financial Aid Processor is responsible for electronically processing a high volume of Title IV awards including loans and grants in addition to reviewing and processing scholarships, and having knowledge of Florida’s State Funding. Key roles also include communicating with and supporting the campus Financial Aid staff with policy and procedures and providing guidance in these areas.

Job Summary
In a central processing environment the Financial Aid Processor has a key role is electronically processing a high volume of Financial Aid packages daily and providing client services regarding compliance and regulatory concerns to the campus staff.

Key Job Elements
• Process Pell payments electronically, while resolving applicable errors.
• Process Loans electronically, while resolving applicable errors.
• Process FAFSAs, ISIRs and ISIR corrections electronically, while resolving applicable errors.
• Utilize COD and NSLDS to review and assess prior student aid history.
• Process Institutional Scholarships.
• Assist in the research of client concerns as needed.
• Follow up with campuses regarding packaging compliance issues.
• Special projects as assigned and needed as skill level and environment warrants.
• Must work well in teams as well as independently
Reports To: SFS Floor Manager
Directly Supervises: None
Interacts With: Accounting, Student Financial Operations and Campus Financial Aid staff, and all levels of management

Requirements/Knowledge
• Associate's degree is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in a key role in a College/University Financial Aid office is preferred, however prior experience in the education industry, finance, accounting or account management or similar areas will be considered.
• Knowledge of CampusVUE or similar application is helpful, although the ability to learn new software may substitute.
• Knowledge of Title IV regulations relating to student loan processing preferred.

Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with both executive and school staff populations.
• Superior organization, prioritization, self-motivation, and problem resolution skills.
• Comfort in computing environment; high level of proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software. Preferred: Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications, experience with CampusVUE and Department of Education Software.

Abilities:
• Ability to complete work in a timely fashion in accordance with federal regulations.
• Ability to learn new software packages quickly and with minimal support.
• Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests.
• Ability to work without close supervision and to set one's own priorities
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer
• Individuals applying must have high levels of integrity, be able to maintain confidentiality, should be detail oriented and analytical to be considered ideal candidates for this position.

This is a full time position that requires day and evening availability.
