Tufts Medical Center has a great opportunity for a Finance Systems Manager to plan, organize, and coordinate the operation and optimization of all financial systems including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, Payroll and other financial systems.

Responsibilities:

Manages the operation of all financial systems; develops short and long-term objectives for maintenance, enhancing, and operations; implements action plans to attain agreed-upon objectives. Consults with managers and Department: heads for ongoing evaluation of the systems and services. Manages the relationships with outside vendors.

Identifies and analyzes processes to be automated, designing and coordinating customizing of the applications and other activities with application vendors and internal users.

Maintains and enhances integral processes serviced by the systems including information entry, system access and operation, documentation, data retrieval, report production, table set-up and maintenance, and security to users.

Serves as a liaison between Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology to consult on, coordinate and effect functional systems installations, modifications, and ongoing enhancements to routine and non-routine system reporting and operations.

Directs and supervises assigned staff including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.

Participates in the development of policies and procedures that affect the data, operations, and accuracy of financial information.

Coordinates ongoing training materials and classes for all levels of users of all financial systems.

Conducts system testing and implementation of system enhancements and updates.

Responds to inquiries regarding information accuracy. Investigates protection inadequacies and develops, when possible, more efficient and accurate methods for capturing necessary information.

Participates on councils, quality improvement teams, and other such committees as required.

Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established policies, procedures and objectives.

Requirements:

Strong analytical ability to develop, conducts, test and document the operation of all financial systems.

Knowledge and understanding of complex system operations and information flows to provide credibility for all financial systems.

A comprehensive knowledge of federal, state and accounting requirements and regulations.

Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with all levels of personnel in discussions and explanations of complex information and to gain cooperation with individuals and groups while effecting timely progress.

Oral and written communication and presentation skills needed to effectively perform duties.

BS/BA or equivalent

Seven to ten years of progressively more responsible experience in complex human resources, payroll, general ledger, accounts payable and other financial system administration, preferably in a healthcare environment; five years’ experience managing staff.

A complete and in-depth understanding of the ADP Enterprise HRMS System, or similar HRIS application functions.

Experience with online HR/Payroll systems and database management software and applications desirable. Experience with web-based applications.
