PURPOSE To perform professional, administrative, and technical work in energy management (EM); helping to define TCH’s energy management vision and developing a culture of energy conservation throughout the TCH system. The TCH system includes Main Campus, Pavilion for Women, West Campus, 8080, Meyer, and Rise School Buildings, Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinics and Health Centers.

Knowledge and Skills

Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is a working knowledge of the City of Houston Building Code, Life Safety Code 101, Energy Management Project development and management. An understanding of legal issues and safety standards is desired.Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people from craftspeople to professionals, the ability to pay attention to details, discern wants from needs, and have an open mind. Incumbent must possess strong verbal communication and grammatical skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, Must be a self-starter who is able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little or no supervision, and be able to utilize computer word processing, spreadsheet, E-mail, and project scheduling programs, and CAD tools, including a plotter. A strong applicant will also possess the ability to develop strategic direction and program implementation and to track, analyze, and manage project or program budgets will also be needed.

Formal Education and Experience

The formal education and experience required for completely satisfactory performance in this job are as follows

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with major coursework inEngineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Environmental Management, or in a related field. (An equivalent amount of education and experience may be substituted for the 4-year degree.)

3 years experience in energy management program development or management

Certification by the Association of Energy Engineers as a Certified Energy Manager (CENM)
