OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB:

Under general supervision, assists in preparing and maintaining the cleanliness of a pool facility while striving to give exemplary customer service. May assist in the daily operations of the ticket office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:

1. Maintains cleanliness of park including but not limited to grass areas, picnic tables, benches, chairs, bathrooms, and community room.

2. Interacts and provides information to patrons in a friendly and courteous manner to provide assistance to guest and answer general requests;

3. Collects, deposits, and maintains accurate records of fees collected.

4. Mopping floors in restrooms to keep them clean and free of build up of water.

5. Cleaning toilets with chemicals and changing out toilet paper dispensers.

6. Cleaning community room for parties that may be scheduled for the day and after parties leave for the day. Includes mopping floors wiping down tables and chairs.

OTHER DUTIES OF THE JOB:

1. Completes any documentation, or paperwork for shift

2. Performs other duties as assigned including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise balance the workload.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Receives instruction from Guest Relations Supervisor.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:

None.

WORKING CONDTIONS:

1. Works outdoors in the sun in hot weather, or possible rain.

2. Works indoors frequently on paperwork and other duties in adequate work space, lighting, temperatures, and ventilation.

3. Works in conditions of potential outbursts or disruptive behavior of general public with potential for personal, physical harm.

4. May be exposed to varying noise levels, dust, fumes, pollens, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and rodent control agents.

5. May perform work on slippery or uneven surfaces, on ladders or scaffolding, around moving vehicles and equipment, and equipment with moving parts.

6. Employees may be required to wear a uniform and will be required to wear appropriate safety apparel and equipment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to see and observe grounds and removes trash and debris with a broom and dust pan sweeping up any garbage that may be on the ground.

2. Employees are required to perform tasks requiring a relatively high degree of physical strength and endurance, stand and walk for long periods of time, reach above and below waist level, have bodily movement adequate to climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch and traverse rough uneven terrain, safely lift and carry objects.

3. Ability to communicate clearly to convey and present information to patrons and coworkers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION/TRAINING

Must be at least 16 to apply. High school diploma or equivalent.

  1. WORK EXPERIENCE

Three months experience in customer relations or concessions, or a related field; or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training determined by the County.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Must be able to speak and understand the English language in an understandable

manner in order to carry out essential functions of the job.

2. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

3. Must possess ability to function independently, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with co-workers and the general public.

4. Must possess thorough knowledge of computer skills, modern office practices and procedures and equipment.

5. Must possess thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic.

6. Must possess the ability to exercise judgment on disposition of problems and the ability to exhibit individual initiative in carrying out assigned projects.

7. Must possess the ability to maintain a variety of records and prepare complete and accurate reports.

8. Must be able to identify chemical and pesticide labels and materials, maintain quantity and quality of, use proper procedures and handling, and make the appropriate applications, as required.

9. Common safety practices and procedures; and identify common safety hazards.

10. Uses of the equipment, materials, power and hand tools used for the purpose of park and recreation facility maintenance.

11. Work odd and irregular hours including weekends and holidays.

12. Acquire the thorough knowledge of County policy and procedures of enforcement.
