Key Job Elements:
1. Executes the daily operation sof HR, which may include hiring/recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training/development.
2. Work closely with campus Human Resources to ensure policies, procedures, and guidelines are adhered to and updated when applicable.
3. Assists with payroll processing and adjustments as needed
4. Develops and facilitates talent management initiatives. These include, but are not limited to:
On-boarding
Orientation
Training
Performance Review Planning
Succession and Leadership planning
5. Responsible for administrative duties such as p-card reconciliation, background dispositions, adjunct payroll processing, etc.
6. Assist with special projects as needed.
Reports To: Associate Chancellor for Human Resources

Supervises: None

Interacts With: All levels of the organization and with the corporate office human resource and payroll staff



Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):


  1. Knowledge:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations or similar required.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in Human Resources or related field preferably in a post secondary education environment or other field with large employee base and strong external customer service requirements (e.g., health care, retail, financial or mortgage services, etc.).
  • Previous payroll/detail oriented administrative experience.
  1. Skills:
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills with both faculty and staff populations.
  • Superior organization, prioritization and self motivation skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills with the MS Office suite as well as HRIS database applications helpful, although not required.
3. Abilities:
  • Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and set ones own priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
