West Houston Medical Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Responsibilities:

* Under the general direction of the Director, ICU/PCU or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit/PCU is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients experiencing critical illnesses requiring admission to the Unit. The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care/PCU Unit supports the medical care of patients requiring Intensive Care services under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the Hospital.
* Demonstrates the facility’s Standards of Performance, ICARE values, and Patient Promise.
* Assesses, monitors, records, reports, and follows through on symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
* Creates and maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
* Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care, as indicated by the patient’s responses and conditions.
* Delegates nursing tasks as appropriate and safe, but retains accountability for patient care
* Provides individualized education for the patient, family, and or caregiver throughout the continuum of care.
* Adheres to standards of safety and infection control, in the delivery of patient care.
* Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and complies with all policies and procedures related to the performance of job duties

Qualifications:

* Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
* BLS /ACLS from the American Heart Association.
* Previous experience in critical care nursing preferred with at least one year of experience on a Tele/Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit.
* Certification in critical care nursing-i.e., CCRN-preferred.
