About the Business Line Government AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support. Job Summary Ensure AFNet change process flows smoothly from the time a Request for Change (RFC) ticket is received through implementation and finally confirmation that the change was successful. Modify/update RFC tickets, other than closed, with the current status at least monthly. Inspect RFCs for completeness before forwarding them to the appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SME) for approval and/or disapproval. Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) to discuss and resolve any conflicts with the information contained in the RFC. Once approved, coordinate and implement according to approved schedules. Contact the customer to confirm the change was successful. Plan, schedule, and control the movement of releases in a live environment to ensure the integrity of the live environment is protected and the correct components are released following established local guidelines. Schedule approved RFCs with the change implementers, coordinate when changes will be implemented and annotate the date and time on a shared calendar for both change and implementers to reference. Configure and maintain contact with the customer to verify that the implemented change was successful. If the change was successful, the implementer shall annotate and forward the RFC for closure. Fill, perform and document local implementation of the change management roles Ensuring that the required IT technical and service facilities can be resumed within required, and agreed, Government time scales Analyze and optimize the performance and throughput of operational IT infrastructures for various government clients Structure and lead tasks that trend, analyze, and improve the performance of operational IT infrastructures, including transport components, mission critical and corporate applications, data storage, and applications hosting environments Monitor the performance and stability of IT infrastructures and document analytic processes, procedures, results, and findings. Lead analysis using a range of data sets and analytic tools Maintain detailed rack diagrams to include: equipment identification, power, weight, British thermal units (BTU) and cable management. Coordinate any equipment moves to and from server racks and annotate updates within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and rack diagrams. Maintain software licenses for the squadron and coordinate with Help Desk personnel when a license is needed for software installation. Work closely with security to ensure only cleared personnel are allowed into the server room.
