Monday Friday, 40 hours per week, day shift.

Position Details:
Performs medical screenings, determines preliminary diagnoses and treatment. The Nurse Practitioner provides primary care to individuals by performing medical screenings, identifying normal/abnormal physical conditions; diagnoses and treats patients; initiating referrals for further diagnosis and treatment; and providing instruction in health care. Utilizes collaborative approach with other onsite healthcare providers.This position is located in the Division of Correctional Health and requires Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Job Description:
1. Performs routine physical screening examinations.2. Interviews inmate to obtain health histories.3. Under supervision of a physician, manages the stable phase of chronic illness.4. Records findings of physical and developmental assessment.5. Provides direct and indirect clinical services to inmates.Experience/

Qualifications Needed:

Masters Degree in Nursing
Licensed ARNP in the state of CA
Must maintain current BLS
Experience with family practice/primary care setting required
Experience in Correctional environment a plus
