If it is determined that your background and qualifications match the University's current needs, you will be contacted to arrange for an interview. Applications will be kept in the pool for up to one year beginning each March 1st. Applicants must reapply annually to express continued interest. Lecturer appointments are temporary and do not confer tenure. Initial appointments may be for one semester or an academic year. Continuing appointments are contingent upon such factors as performance, enrollment, funding and programmatic need.

More about our academic community: California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is a comprehensive state university that values academic excellence and the integration of learning, working, and residential living within a multicultural and interdisciplinary community. The campus is located on scenic and historic Monterey Bay on what was formerly part of the Fort Ord army base. This 21st campus of the CSU system is committed to serving the diverse people of California, especially the historically underserved communities. The university values an environment of cultural and linguistic diversity and gender equity; ethical reflection and practice, effective and experimental use of technologies as resources to people and catalysts for learning; and the integration of cross-disciplinary pedagogic, research, and daily operational models which enable students, faculty and staff to engage in innovative instruction and coordinated service learning. The curriculum is organized around student learning outcomes. It is global in perspective, and of sufficient breadth and depth to meet local, regional, and statewide needs, specifically those of both isolated rural communities and inner-city populations.
