* Ensure adherence to department policies and procedures..
* Participate in Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement (QAPI) quality initiatives, performance measurement data collection.

* Attend quality management meetings.
* Provide training, competencies and mentoring to new staff and existing staff.
* Assist in developing performance standards and provide supervision for accomplishment.
* Identify staffing needs and create monthly schedule of all staff to ensure proper coverage.
* Coordinate the department involvement in interdisciplinary patient care meetings, daily pulmonary physician rounds and delivery of care.
* Participate in family meetings and ensure that the staff is current and ready with the plan of care at family meetings.
* Participate in interdisciplinary, staff and center wide meetings.
* Act as a liaison in clinical evaluation of patients between department staff and physicians.
* Participate in in-service education and educational programs within the center. Maintain knowledge and skills and participate in educational programs outside the center.
* Provide 80% direct patient care and treatment as appropriately needed within guidelines and standards.
* Produce the required clinical daily records and statistics.
* Supervise the maintenance of records, supplies and equipment, assessing daily equipment needs and assist the department manager in recommending changes as appropriate.
* Supervise and coordinate the preventive maintenance of oxygen delivery systems and needs and assist the manager in establishing current regulatory standards of oxygen delivery devices (Long term care).
* Work closely with the respiratory care manager to coordinate operational systems and insure optimal level of care.
* Protect patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communication according to HIPAA standards.
* Exemplify professionalism and exhibit values, which contribute to the achievement and mission of Hebrew Senior Life.

Qualifications  Qualified candidates should have the following

* Associate degree from an AMA accredited school for respiratory care.
* Current MA licensure for respiratory care.
* Registered respiratory care practitioner with credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
* 3-5 years of experience in Respiratory Care.
* Knowledge of Medicare documentation guidelines.
