Manufacturing Unit Leader

The Unit Leader is responsible for managing employees on a day to day basis and assisting Management in the coordination of production related activities. The Unit Leader ensures that all finished products conform to specified requirements and that finished products which do not conform to requirements are prevented from being used or delivered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Closely interface with area manager/planners/quality to ensure all aspects of production processes are operating within acceptable standards.

Insure compliance with established schedules and reports any deviations to the planner and/or manager and assist in scheduling corrective actions as required. Recommend and implement work schedule adjustments to meet production demands. Coordinate overtime schedules.

Provides daily assignments to workforce and monitors efficiencies in relation to established proficiency rates. Trains department personnel to effectively meet operational requirements.

Oversees and provides methods for initial and follow-up training and cross-training of employees and maintains associated training documentation. Conduct and update SOP training.

Insures compliance with QA, GMP, SOP, FDA, 5S and labor standards.

Identifies performance issues and recommends plans to motivate employees to achieve established productivity goals.

Provide technical and mechanical knowledge to analyze and resolve problems. Maintain department PMs and work order documentation.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering discipline. Associates degree and relevant experience will be considered. Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
