POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Transportation Director, manages 3 -5 Distribution Centers carrier networks in an assigned divisional territory with an average annual spend of $13 - $19 million. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining outbound shipments, managing the carrier RFP process, maintaining the CSP and SAP routing systems, maintaining carrier / DC relationships.

** This position can be located in one of these four locations at our Distribution Centers ( Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; Kent, WA; and Phoneix, AZ)**

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for system management of all transportation applications including (CSP and Extended Enterprise Management (EEM)
2. Analyzes and reviews routes to optimize opportunities to reduce cost and identify delivery opportunities.
3. Responsible for improving carrier delivery quality and ensuring metrics compliance.
4. Responsible for pulling data from various sources including CSP (carrier standardization program).

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for system management of all transportation applications including (CSP and Extended Enterprise Management (EEM)
2. Analyzes and reviews routes to optimize opportunities to reduce cost and identify delivery opportunities.
3. Responsible for improving carrier delivery quality and ensuring metrics compliance.
4. Responsible for pulling data from various sources including CSP (carrier standardization program).
5. Participate in carrier interviews providing guidance for negotiation and selection to the Transportation Director and/or Director of Operations.
6. Responsible for contracts and amendment processes, tracking, and sync with CSP.
7. Owner of weekly CSP pre bill process and submission of electronic file to carriers for invoicing.
8. Responsible for system routing changes which includes delivery times, rating groups, signature groups.
9. Provides weekly/monthly/quarterly carrier performance report under direction from Transportation Director.
10. Responsible for resolving escalating delivery issues that have been identified by customer care and other resources.
11. Responsible for providing and analyzing Transportation METRICS reports.
12. Responsible for identifying root cause and addressing issues realized through Transportation METRICS with carrier to correct unfavorable trends.
13. Responsible for quarterly business reviews providing key metric data to the appropriate business partners.
14. Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
15. Performs related duties as assigned

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires training and experience in fields such as transportation, business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, logistics, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of six (6) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization and technical abilities.
2. Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
3. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
4. Ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently and prevent reoccurrence
5. Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects
6. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
7. Ability to plan and conduct effective meetings
8. Working knowledge of AmerisourceBergen business processes preferred
9. Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Access databases, Word and queries.
