We are interested in hearing from Mid level individuals who have research support and experience in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) focus area. In this position an NETL MSE researcher will support the development of materials and strategies that promote advanced energy conversion technologies using computational and experimental approaches ranging from fundamental science through pilot-scale evaluation. Much of the research focuses on the development and testing of new or improved structural and functional materials for the aggressive environments of the next generation of power plants.

This position requires eligibility and ability to get a DOE clearance.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, industrial, mechanical, petroleum, safety or information technology

* 9 + years of experience providing engineering support for energy related research

* Current active DOE security clearance or the ability to obtain a DOE security clearance.

Desired skills

* Understanding of the application of materials science to one or more of the following domains: high-temperature & pressure environments such as gas turbines; gas separation & capture; fuel cells; carbon material synthesis; geological structures

* Previous experience working in support of a National Laboratory

* Advanced degree in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, industrial, mechanical, petroleum, safety or information technology
