*Providence is calling a Nurse Practitioner to the Neonatal Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.*

The NNP manages the neonatal patient case load with consultation, collaboration, and general supervision from a physician.  Utilization the extensive knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacy and physiology.  The NNP exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of certain medical processes and procedures.  These skills may be used in the delivery room, on transport, or with infants and pediatric patients within the hospital.  The NNP is additionally involved in education, consultation and research at various levels.

  * Initiate and participate in assessment of the quality of care provided to prenatal patients and in the NICU and Lifeguard Quality Assurance programs.
  * Implement the provisions of quality patient/family care.
  * Participate in training of medical providers.  Participate in statewide training and conferences.

*In this position, you will:*


  * Initiate and participate in assessment of the quality of care provided to prenatal patients and in the NICU and Lifeguard Quality Assurance programs.
  * Implement the provisions of quality patient/family care.
  * Participate in training of medical providers.  Participate in statewide training and conferences.
  * Screen requests for medical services with staff for scheduling of appointments for interviews and medical examinations.
  * Document medical evaluation findings and communicates that information to appropriate staff and/or agencies.
  * Serve as a case manager.  May function as primary care giver.  Serve as a resource in expert nursing care.




*Required qualifications for this position include:*


  * Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  * Current RN license in the State of Alaska.
  * Must have a current Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) license in the State of Alaska upon completion of department orientation and within 90 days of hire. 
  * Current NCC Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is required within 6 months of hire.


 

*Preferred qualifications for this position include:*

 


  * Master’s degree
  * Three years in clinical practice.
