  7. Must be able to train, supervise, schedule and discipline staff, accordingly.
  8. Must be able to take and give accurate food orders in a friendly manner.
  9. Must be familiar with the County policies and procedures.
  10. Must work under the Serve Safe guidelines or an equivalent of, for food preparation and handling.
  11. Work odd and irregular hours including weekends and holidays

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Receives instruction from Recreational Associate. Instruction may be given by Parks Manager and/or Parks and Recreation Manager. Assignments may be over ruled through the chain of command from Parks Manager, Parks and Recreation Manager, to Director, respectively.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:

Gives instruction to concession staff.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CONDITIONS:

  1. Must have the ability to read standard text at a distance.
  2. Vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  3. Must have the ability to communicate over music and equipment.
  4. Must have the stamina to stand for hours and work in various indoor temperatures.
  5. Must possess ability to record, convey and present information, explain procedures and follow instructions.
  6. Employees are required to perform tasks requiring a relatively high degree of physical strength and endurance, stand and walk for long periods of time, reach above and below waist level, have bodily movement adequate to climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch and traverse rough uneven terrain, safely lift and carry objects.
  7. Must communicate clearly in person, by telephone and/or radio, have vision adequate to read fine print and visually identify pool clarity.
  8. May conduct personnel training on proper and safe use of equipment.
  9. May recommend the needs of the facility such as equipment and supplies and in the planning and scheduling of work activities to the Supervisor.
  10. Must have the ability to train others in use of facility, County policy and procedures, rules and regulations, and use of equipment.
  11. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and to concentrate on work.
  12. Effectively implement and carry out the facility’s Emergency Action Plan.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 16 years of age or older and general work experience; or an acceptable combination of education, experience and training determined by the County.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. May be assigned duties at various site locations; be subject to call out, or work a varying work week.
  2. Works in outdoors environment and may be exposed to varying climatic conditions.
  3. May be exposed to varying noise levels, dust, fumes, pollens, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and rodent control agents.
  4. May perform work on slippery or uneven surfaces, on ladders or scaffolding,

around moving vehicles and equipment and equipment with moving parts.

  1. Employees may be required to wear a uniform and will be required to wear appropriate safety apparel and equipment.
  2. Works indoors in adequate kitchen space, lighting, ventilation and temperatures.
  3. Normal exposure to indoor dust/dirt.
  4. Works in conditions of potential outbursts or disruptive behavior of general public with potential for personal physical harm.
  5. May perform work alone or as part of a team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  2. Skill in the application of surveillance and rescue techniques.
  3. Ability to work individually or as a team.
  4. Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  5. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  6. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  7. Responsible for attending staff meetings in order to keep current on policies and maintain rescue skills.
  8. Report to supervisor when materials or supplies are needed.
  9. Responsible for maintaining personal fitness to be able to perform required functions.
  10. Responsible for maintaining uniform in a neat, clean appearance.
  11. Perform related work as required.
