Suitable applicants will be fully conversant with piping stress analysis software such as CAESAR II and NozzlePro. You will be fully knowledgeable of ASME codes applicable to piping systems and pressure vessels, and be familiar with hydraulic calculations for piping system and related engineering software. Full knowledge of engineering development process and typical piping engineering deliverables such as piping isometrics, piping line classes, line designation tables, specialty items, material selection diagrams. Knowledge of 3D design tools, Intergraph PDS and SmartPlant3D. Candidates will be conversant with Intergraph PDS or SmartPlant3D and understand how to manage projects using these systems. Knowledge in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.


The suitable candidate will report to a project manager (or senior project engineer) and duties will involve contributions to front-end, detailed engineering, and construction project phases , including development of scope definition, establishment of piping classifications, and defining piping-related deliverables with man-hour estimates. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a team of junior piping/mechanical designers and engineers, and be responsible for all design reviews of piping system of the project that includes checking and signing off all piping-related calculations/analysis provided by the designers.

Other aspects of the work include acting as a clearing house to troubleshoot and resolve all issues related to the piping system at various phases of the design and during construction. Act as an effective mentor to young Saudi engineers to train them to become specialized with piping systems. Candidates will have knowledge in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications will advantageous.


The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company’s new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company’s Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
