The Institute for Innovation Project Manager will guide the business case development, analysis, and planning for potential innovations and serve as the project manager for guiding innovations from design through pilot within UCLA Health. The role will also have a business analysis component to measure the "return on innovation" for projects. The position requires someone with understanding of business and health policy that can provide guidance to the Health System on implications of innovations for affordable care. The position requires a people' person with excellent communication skills and project management experience to support the Institute for Innovation's initiatives and growth. The Project Manager will be responsible for Institute projects, including the development and resourcing of project teams, partnerships with external resources, preparation of analyses and materials for teams, and scanning for relevant innovations in healthcare and other sectors. The Project Manager will also be responsible for designing and testing the innovation processes that will form the core of subsequent innovation and transformation efforts across the Health System. The Project Manager reports to the Director for the Institute for Innovation.

Other Duties Assigned:
Collaborate with Business of Science and Anderson School of Business faculty and programs.
Act as liaison with external consultants to bring project features in-house for operations team members. Lead team through problem identification, idea generation, resource allocation, relationships, and build.
Develop project management support policies, standards and procedures for use across the program necessary to produce the deliverables from the team and to work effectively with the other teams.
Maintains accountability for population health management cost objectives, value analyses for advanced specialty care, and works closely with Transformation projects to support re-design for affordability.

B.A. and Master's Degree in health services administration or business preferred;
2-5 years experience in project management, with training in business case preparation and analyses, ideally at several consulting or health care delivery organizations; demonstrated expertise in project management; demonstrated success in business analysis of opportunities for performance improvement and quality or cost improvement; administrative leadership in business development or clinical service transformation preferred;
Superior analytical skills; familiarity with literature reviews and interviews; ability to synthesize information from multiple sources (academic journals, newspapers, online publications, interviews, etc.); attentiveness to details and results; strong computer and Internet research proficiency;
Demonstrated track record as team member and team leader, with experience in multidisciplinary teams essential; natural communicator and leader with ability to catalyze change efforts within complex organizations;
Highly organized and flexible in a dynamic environment; comfortable working independently and as a team;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with senior level leaders in the health care industry and community;
Expertise in health system market functions, including basics of reimbursement systems, coordination of care across sites and services, basic components of health reform and accountable care, health plan functions and integrated delivery systems.
