RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the development and implementation of Quality System requirements at several manufacturing locations and business units.

  • Develops and implements SOPs, SSOPs, Plant Policies, HACCP, GMP, Pest Control, Documentation, Training, Traceability/Recall, Crises Management, Instrument Calibration, Positive Release, Allergen Control, Housekeeping, QMS, Statistical Process Control, Net Weight Content, Verifications and Validations, and other quality elements.
  • Establish, monitor and maintain all appropriate quality programs and procedures, testing methodologies, and test equipment to assure compliance to specifications and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Coordinates resolution of quality management issues. This includes reporting on KPI's, corrective action plans, technical summaries, management review of quality, held inventory disposition, etc.
  • Ensure that established systems / procedures / protocols are adequate to provide for consistent product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Routinely works with cross function groups to achieve business objectives.

  • Audit and approve processing and finished product specifications for all products.
  • Participate in the internal production facility audit programs to verify adherence to company programs and specifications and government regulations
  • Conducts audits, issues timely reports and coordinates required follow-up actions.
  • Provide technical support in product recalls / withdrawals.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to all manufacturing locations and operational / support staffs.
  • Develop and implement procedural protocols for commissioning runs and reports
  • Maintains constant communication with customers and provides information to the customers in a timely manner.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of6 years in food manufacturing operations. Within this there must be 3-5 years of factory QA experience, preferably at a QA Manager level.
  • SQF Practitioner and HACCP certification required
  • Must be well versed in BRC and/or SQF standards and certification requirements

SKILLS:

  • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of food safety, HACCP, GMP's, Allergen Controls, Sanitary design/controls, pest control, basic food regulations, specifications, and basic food technology.
  • Must be capable of working with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills.
  • Strong demonstrated verbal / written communications, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be detailed and results oriented.
  • Statistical analysis experience.
  • PC proficiency in Windows-based applications: Word, Excel, Access

EDUCATION:
Minimum BS / BA degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science / Food Technology or related fields
