**20%** Schedule and coordinate EHS training by identifying training needs, developing training programs and ensuring effective training is accomplished.

**15%** Develop, implement and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and regulations.

**15%** Assist in the planning, organizing and coordinating of safety programs involving disaster preparedness, employee safety and public risk factors; including injury and illness prevention.

**10%** Champion the safety committee.eam to lead the development of employee involvement in safety.

**10%** Investigate and coordinate accident root cause analysis through the incident management system. Gathers and analyzes data to identify leading and lagging indicators as part of the continuous improvement process.

**5%** Coordinate facility industrial hygiene sampling and employee hearing conservation testing and take appropriate improvement actions as needed.

**5% ** Maintain recordkeeping; including the Safety Data Sheet management system.

###  **_Secondary Functions_**

Perform activities necessary for the effective management of safety programs in order to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance.

Perform individual assignments as the Director, EHS Regulatory Compliance may direct; establish and maintain effective work relationships within the Department, the Group, the Company and the community; and maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assignments.

###  **Position Specifications**

####  ** Knowledge**

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field.
2. Two or more years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field.
3. Knowledge of local, state and federal (29 CFR 1910) requirements.
4. Professional certification preferred (i.e. CSP, CHMM).

####  **Skills**

1. Communications Skills: Able to clearly present information through the spoken word; influence or persuade others through oral presentation in positive or negative circumstances with all levels of the organization; listen well. Able to write clearly and effectively to present ideas. Able to document and chart activities and data and to read and interpret written information.
2. Team Building: Able to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.
3. Analytical Problem Solving: Able to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of problem and evaluation of alternate solutions; use logic, mathematics, or other problem solving tools in data analysis or in generating solutions.
4. Commitment to Task: Able to start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency; willing to commit to long hours of work and make personal sacrifice in order to reach goals.
5. Have excellent organizational skills and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and under deadline pressure.
6. Ability to work independently.

####  **Physical Requirements**

1. Physical skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
2. Physical skills to identify and correct safety hazards throughout the facility.

####  **Working Conditions**

1. Ability to be available as required by a 24/7 operation.
2. Some office sedentary activities and some exposure to electrical, noise, chemicals, and other hazards.
